My current role is Director of Information Technology for Northern Gateway Public Schools where I support teaching and learning by helping to ensure that technology is effectively integrated into learning and teaching processes. At NGPS I combine strategic planning and operational leadership with technical competence to turnaround service performance and drive organizational change.
After completing the Computers Systems Technology Diploma from NAIT in 2000, I worked as a Systems Analyst in northern BC for 2.5 years. I returned to Alberta in 2002 and completed the Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology. I spent the next 3 years working in the private sector, designing highly secure network environments for industrial process controls systems. In 2005, I found my passion and began working in K-12 public Education sector. I hold numerous technical certifications and am always learning. I believe effective technology use offers significant opportunity to improve education for the students of Alberta.
Outside of work, I enjoy sports, aquaponics/hydroponics, travelling, cooking, craft beers and anything technology related.
